Several members of the community have come together to investigate group purchase options and discounts for those need a new wood roof. We would like to thank Dan, Cindy, Adam and Joan for their work in this area.
We are pleased to share the following information:
· Dwight’s roofing – may consider a group purchase discount. They would need interested owners to contact them to arrange a drone survey ($250 but this price is deducted from the bill if you proceed with roofing)
· Sargeant – will provide a 10% discount on labour costs if 3 or more residents from our community sign up for their services
· Reid’s roofing – this business has sponsored community activities in Blackburne in the past. Our understanding is that they may provide a discount if there are a minimum of 10 homes that wish to purchase their services however the % of discount will depend on their assessment of the scope of the work.
· Advanced Roofing Systems – will not commit to group discounts. They advised that they purchase directly from the mill and therefore provide better pricing.
· EE clean-up is an Edmonton based company that is bringing cleaning and sealing of wood roofing to the Edmonton area. This may improve the appearance as well as the longevity of your roof in protecting your home and they will provide guarantees of 5 – 10 years depending on the state of your roof once the cleaning, sealing and replacement of some shakes/shingles is completed. EE works in collaboration with Dwight’s Roofing. The Edge condo complex in our community had a small test area cleaned in late July.
