Shrub Bed Reno Underway

 

The shrub bed next to the pump station on Blackburn Drive has been given a long awaited facelift and more work will soon be on the way as well.

 

The Board of Directors asked for quotes from five landscaping companies to renovate the shrub bed that had become overgrown with cedar plants and weeds (right). It received written quotes from two companies and on June 10 selected Yardworx of Edmonton to complete the work. After contacting Alberta One Call and getting the area staked, work on the bed was completed in mid-July (left).

 

Residents Guenther Moellenbeck and Guy Luke have started the job of getting the lights in the bed to work again. The lights are in metal boxes and shine on the Blackburne Creek sign at night. The sign itself is also starting to come apart and will be put back together.

 

By the end of the summer the bed and sign should be looking far better than they did just a few weeks ago and will be something we can be proud of again.
