The Shoppes of Blackburn
After years of a vacant lot greeting Blackburne Creek residents as they made their way into and out of our community, a new development is now planned. The Shoppes of Blackburn will soon be located on what is now a vacant lot at the intersection of 111 Street and Blackburn Drive.
The City has given its approval to the 5,000 square foot mixed-use development. Buildings will be located at the east end of the lot next to the entrance to Horizon Harbour. There will be a 2,500 square foot building that will be used for health services, 1,500 square feet for convenience retail and two personal services outlets of 470 and 330 square feet. The buildings will be clad in stucco and have cultured stone for decorative purposes. There will also be 19 parking stalls on the west side of the lot. Plans also call for about 30 trees to be planted, along with just under 100 shrubs.
No date for the start to construction has been announced on the 17,500 square foot lot.
